What is an aquagravure?

The aquagravure technique is a printing technique that allows the printer to make structures and relief in the works. First, the artist makes a mould with wooden plates. Than, the mould is hand-colored. After the coloring, the printer adds paperpulp and presses it with great force in the mould. Thatway, the paper is colored as the mould. After a few days of drying, the piece is reviewed and corrected by hand. Only when the artist gives his approval, the work is signed and numbered.

This way of working is complex and takes a lot of time. Therefore, the editions are limited.
