Niclas Castello was born as the son of a working class family in the former GDR. After the German reunification his parents started a business in car retail. Niclas Castello trained to become a car mechanic. During this time he got more and more fascinated by the world of arts and, inspired by the Paris fashion shows, he showed his first collection “catwalk” which was exhibited in Amsterdam. Still not satisfied with his work, Castello went to Paris to get inspired by the Monte Madre artists and continued his work.
Aftwerwards he returned to Munich and folowed a breef trainting. After a short period of time he stoped his training and left for New York City where he lived with the famous artist Arleen Schloss. There he discovered his passion for sculptures made of consumer materials. Returned to Germany, and, driven by his will to reach perfection, he was fascinated by car wrecks which he turned into sculptures. Castello is an object artist and works in Assemblage. His work includes small and fragile objects as well as huge sculptures.
