Frensh-American artist. Important for his developement as an artist was the meeting with Yves Klein in 1947. Arman assisted him in the fifties and started in 1960 the movement 'Nouveau Realisme' with him and Pierre Restany. The work of Arman are very often a assambling of daily objects put in a plexibox. He called his technique "accumulation". He also made artworks by borning and slicing objects such as music instruments.
Arman lived the later years of his life in the United States. He died in October 2005 in New York.
