The Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin was once used as Museum of Applied Arts. Now it is used as an exhibition center/kunsthalle.
The building is intended for large exhibitions of a temporary nature. Until 1990, it was next to the Berlin wall, the sector border to the district Berlin-Mitte.
In addition to the main address of the Berliner Festspiele, the Haus der Berliner Festspiele, the Martin-Gropius-Bau is used every autumn since 1981 for exhibitions in the light of the Festival. In addition to that it was the set for some very impressive art exhibitions.
