Marco den Breems is a Dutch artist. His work contains a pessimistic and conflictual undertone.

The work of den Brems almost exclusively consists of mixed techniques based on spaciousness and expression. The artist does not only ask us what art is, but also what society and activism is and what the role of the observer in it is. The main theme in his work is internal and external conflict: which values does man throw overboard and what are the inner conflicts that give cause to that.

In addition to many private collections, the work of den Breems is represented in the Marta Herford Museum where former curator Jan Hoet made a major exhibition about the artist in 1998. Since then, work has been shown many times in the museum context.
